Bill Goodman I thought their debut LP was a great. This one blows that one away.

Michael Reilly Exciting blues/rock from Captain Ivory as their sound continues to mature and gain even greater dynamics and finesse. This album induces much head-nodding and foot-tapping – always a sign of strong compositions and style. Favorite track: Epitaph.

Broken Light 04:09
Broken light above the old marquee Shining brighter than the city street antiquity There they stand and marvel at the dreams That are strewn across the pictures on a silver screen You never know the time Or read between the lines for it's too late Ever notice how Once it's figured out Close is far to go So goddamn far to go Cornerstone Built in the masonry Mortar murders building up the bricks of industry Chemistry, synthesizing needs Cleansing countries of morality, cause the first one’s free Every time you think it's gone to far extremes the bar is raised it seems by some shifty sleazy sucker And then you know you've got to keep it clean, lose your means, so why even bother

about

"No Vacancy" was recorded at a couple of different studios between Nashville & Indianapolis, with 90% of it tracked straight to tape. This is the band's sophomore release, and the first recording with new bassist Brett Smith, & drummer Seth Maschari. The songs reflect the group's maturation as musicians & songwriters and draws inspiration from the wealth of touring done across the world over the past three years. As always, this release continues Captain Ivory's penchant for down & dirty guitar grooves, high flying vocals, & catchy songwriting.
